5volt Solder point on LK204-25 ??? where ???

Post by profit »

Hi,

As many here, I am now mounting my display outside of the case (due to me keep changing cases!)

I have the LK204-25 V-WB model which I used to supply 12v via the I2C, I understand however I can supply 5 Volts via the DB9 but I need to solder somewhere - I've looked and can't see which points on the board to solder.

Please help

Hello...

Sorry about that...we are in the process of updating all of our manuals!! Just beneath the DB9 you will notice a jumper. Once you solder this jumper you will be able to apply power via the DB9. Please be advised that you can only apply 5 Volts via this connection as the power rail doesn't run through any type of voltage regualtor!! :)

Thanks for answering, but I see no jumper, there is a solder looking point to the bottom right looking something like |> <| is this it ?

I did short this, then applied 5v to pin 9, but nothing lit up, I had the other required DB9 connections made also.

Any ideas?

Where are you grabbing your 5 Volts from?? The jumper you are making reference to is the correct one...
