In LCDC the Winamp 2 plugin works with no problem with Winamp 5.

the technique you used should be ok, maybe LCDC is driving the fans for itself.. check in the "Advanced MXx features\GPO/PWM control"dialog of LCDC configure/test, if the GPO advanced control is set to "manual, set in screen builder", you could also test to use "auto, temperature based" to allow ...

Recheck if you are using the right Definition file, you can check It going to "Configure/Test". It would be "LK204-24-USB or MX4xx".

I'm having problem with advanced GPOs, I tested the three GPOs getting same results (I'm Using LCDC 1.05.27) :
