STIG.....

I think you're right.... I used an old DB9 cable I found layin' around. Can I get this serial cable from the local PC shop? What spec. should I be lookin' for??

BTW....The settings on the software matched the physical connections.

Yes I did try COM2. I made sure all the connections [power and data] were correct. My NK204 has the wide volt. option and I thought I may have incorrectly switched the cables, but the blinking cursor is a good indication that I did it right. As far as the device is ...

ok.

my goal is to have a decent LCD panel on my modestly modded sx1040 that would display temp, Mhz, clock cycles, CPU type, graphics etc....IN BLUE!!!!!. i know the software drives these diff. features so it matters what hardware i get.
