I'm just thinking of an idea using a 4x20 VFD display to monitor some things on my car ie boost, oil temp, oil pressure, and egt. Would it be possible to hook pressure and heat sensors up to the LCD and have it monitor them? I figure some tricky circuitry would need to be used....throw out any comments or ideas...thanks

Some would be easy, some would be harder. You would need a micro processor like a PIC or ATMEL or BASIC STAMP... and then sensors hardware stuff and so on. The VFD part would be the easy part

So basically I'd have the hardware sending the signals to the processor...then they would control the lcd, correct?
Guess I'll do some research on PIC/Amtel/basic stamp. Anyone have any good links? thanks
