I am totally new to this and don't know to much about it. I do know that I want a 4 line display and will be using LCDC software for it. Price is of no object for me, but would also like to be able to hook my case fans up to the unit if possible. Also I don't know the difference between the LCD units and the VFD ones. I am looking for a purple LCD display, but will settle for a blue one. Any recomendations would be very helpful and highly appreciated. I saw a video clip from Henry on a unit, and was wondering what one that was. Here is the link for that clip:

Thank you!

Can you tell me where I can get a purple lcd display? And does the LK204-25PC come with all cables that are needed to hook to my PC?

There is no "purple" LCD, it's a dark blue with white lettering, it just looks purple inthe pictures, it's very hard to take a picture off. The LK204-25-OC does not come with any cables, you will need a serial cable and a power cable (if you have none free).

Ok cool, thanks for all the help. Tis one of the reasons I decided to go with A Matrix Orbital display. You guys rock!!! Very helpful!!! I went to the C**********z Forum when deciding on an lcd and they have no where near the amount of help that is on this forum. Not to mention all the problems they seem to have with them lol. Well thanks again, I will be purchasing the LK204-25PC and cables from you guys in a week or so. I will let you know how I make out with it. :)

Finally people are begining to understand. There is something to be said for high quality products and support. You can't get much better in the support department with Henry, Miles, Cheese and Linear to name just a few.

Feel the love, woo!

okay, now that the group hug is over ;) you might also consider this option if you *must* have a purple display. Of course the modifcation voids the warranty, so it's your call if you think it's worth that or not.

Damn the icehardware.net server seems to be b0rked at the moment, so I can't give you an URL, but cheese got his loking purple by changing out the backlight LEDs, he used a LK204-25PC also, so you at least know it can be done.

I just wanted a purple one to be a little different. Seems everyone has a blue one. Not a real biggy, but if you happen to find that url or another one that can tell me how to do the mod, that would be great. But I think I will be happy with the unit as it is. Plus, with the luck that I have...Voiding the warranty is not a good idea lol.
