hi

little question:
i'm planing to run 2 LK204-25-WB-V (instead 1 4x40, i dont like the torquis ;) and it might be better for an mp3 suitcase to have on lcd for spectrum analyser and one for title, time...) and a 4x4 keypad. is it possible to connect the keypad to both lcd's in fact connecting the first column of the keypad to the first lcd and the rest to the other ?

Of course this is a non-official MO answer, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. In fact, I'd think it would be easier to just parallel the single keypad to both units entirely, then just sort out in software what you want to handle where.

Since the keypress shorts a row pin to a column pin, paralleling them shouldn't be a problem as I see it. Or you could do what you want, but I think you'd still need to connect all rows from te keypad to both displays even if you split the columns. So just connect it all in parallel.

hmm, that should do the job. unfortunately i can't use all buttons for both displays, except for basic comands like backlight on/off, but for all other i have to define a key only for one lcd, but that's no prob. :D
so i only have to split all cables in two.
