Just got my LCD 2041-v-wb with power cable. Since I want to mount this outside of case, can i simply cut add extension wires (cut cable and solder new ones) so that the power cable is longer?

Sure, why not... you might want to maybe get a external power supply instead. We use cheap 120V AC to 9V DC power converters here, and then just cut the end, and use a floppy power connector and solder it together... then you have a nice external power mod.

Thanks Henry.
I just hooked it up now to make sure it worked and am very impressed with it! I also have a parallel lcd and this one blows it out of the water.

What I did was use a cat5 network cable to extend the power cable (cable is 8 feet or so). This was easier since I already had it available. Do you still want a small guide on doing it this way? The power converter would have been way cooler but I just didn't have any available.

Just put this together. Let me know what you think. Not much to it though.
