not sure if this is a hardware of software related question,
but how do you get a splash screen to show up when the lcd first powers up (eg. Matrix Orbital LCD2041) instead of the flashing cursor?
thanks

Nothing you can do on the LCD2041. To keep costs low on that display, the memory chip is not put on. For a startupscreen you need the LK204-25-PC and the LK204-25 in the future.

I have the LK204-25-WP-VPT, can I do a splash screen? If so how?

I saw on the web, a while back, someone had System Booting show as soon as power was recieved, then once in Windows LCDC did it's thing, I'd really like to do something like that.

I'm pretty sure you can't, but I don't recognise that product code, did you mean LK204-25-WB-VPT?

There aren't that many MO controllers that will allow custom startup screens, the lk202 (and vk202), the lk204-25pc, the big lcd's and the graphics :( You could write a little program that runs before windows and write some startup screen to the display though :)

Cheers,

Rob.

Actualy, most of our displays have splash screens, only the LK/VK204-25, LCD/VFD2041 and the LCD0821 don't have splash screens, the rest f our displays do... it's a long story why the LK/VK series don't, but that will change in the near future.

Well I know that's true technically, but in pc world at least the lk/nk/vk 204 seem to be the most popular displays, hence saying most don't have (i.e. if you have an mo display connected to your computer the chances are it won't have a user customisable splash screen). I don't really know what sales figures are like, so I could be completely wrong, I was just calling it the way I've seen it :)

:) No matter, in the near future it will change, the LK204-25 will get a total overhaul and so will the LK204-25-PC...

:D Look forward to seeing the new controllers... Mmm I want to see an inverse red 204 btw, the red 202 is just too small for me ;)

Cheers,

Rob.
