ok well after a long time i finally decided what to buy and i just got my credit card. so this is what i'm going to order very soon:
- LCD2041-WB-V LCD2041 Inverse Blue with White Backlight and Wide Voltage
- B2041-BK Black with standard cable
the cable that comes with the bay insert is 12V and the display is the wide voltage version so i'm all set? is this all i need?

ok which shipping method should i use? ups express 1 day for $8.48 or dhl 1 day for $5.91
i would go with ups (for name brand sake) but i don't know about this brokerage fee thing (then i would go with dhl)
this will be shipping WITHIN canada right? so no other shipping fees should be added ??

go ahead and ship with DHL, there will be no GST or brokarage fees since we are in Calgary...

well got my lcd today and it lights up and everything
too bad i can't figure out how to use LCDC
i can create a screen with text, but as for events, turning backlight on/off, winamp display, plugins, etc.. i'm lost
u have to be a computer programmer to use this thing!

Take a look here, it's for the BLK202A, but it should give you the right idea...

i just found the examples directory in LCDC!
all is good now
and btw the LCD is nice and crisp and the shipping was excellent
there should be more canadian etailers with low shipping rates and high quality products...that would make a good quote for a plug

Sorry about LCDC, I am trying to work on improving the documentation to make it easier to use, but due to the amount of expansion it has gone through I've found it hard to keep up.

this is what i *should* have done
1. install lcdc, mbm5, winamp
2. download and install plugins
3. load 2 or 4 line example file
there, don't have to touch events or variables
but i'm going to end up learning them anyways to tweak my display info

That's the road I took. I'm pretty much running LCDC 'out of the box' and it suits me just fine.
I think that's about to come to an end, however...

what do you mean tutorial? what do you want to see? if you look through the manual I posted it does go into more depth with examples, you have to let us know what you want
