Hey everyone.
I got a software problem (i believe), here goes the story...

I ourchased my LK204-25 (rev 1.22) on january 2000, and since then I was not using it at all (I was completing other parts of my project), all tho I tested it several times since then. It always worked straight away. But Yester I'm connecting it to my PC and it behaves as the serial cable was not connected. SO i did some experimenting, and that is what I found out.

Note that I have baud rate set to 19200 both jumpers and control panel, 8n1, Xon/Xoff folw control and fifo buffers disabled.

So heres what I do.
I plug it using modified floppy power connector and it starts and just blinks a "box cursor" on position 1,1., Then I plug in serial cable.
Nothing changes.
I start alpha demo (already configured properly)
the binking "box cursor" goes away.
All I can do is to turn backlight on/off.
Thats all. all other funkctions dont do a thing. Just blank screen all the time. But then when I close alphademo, then it shows "thank you for using this software" on the LCD.

As well I tried using winamp lcd plugin - and that works fine ! (hence I'm happy because it is not hardware problem, i think...)

But i just cant understand how come alphademo doesnt work. And i would like to find out, because cajun software (for mp3car) doesnt work either, which is making me MAD, cos I spend time and money on that project.

Thanks in advance.

In alpha demo turn the contrast to ~150 and then send text.
