Hey all,

The uC addresses and writes to the string of 0821's and the one LK204-25 on the same I2C bus just fine. The question I have is how do i read the keypad data from the LK204-25?

Usually a seperate address to access the LCD for I2C read mode. But I havent seen anything to this effect on the LK204 web docs.

What is the proper order via I2C to get the keypad data?

Thanks!
Tony

OK, so I got reading keystrokes working with my GLK12232-25-WBL and I2C, but I can't get any of the other read commands to work with I2C. Like "read module type" or "read serial number". I am also struggling with download bitmap. Does it work with I2C? Any suggestions?

I am suspicious that they simply don't work with I2C because of the note in the manual that says that you can't do flow control with I2C. I hope that there is a work around.

Thanks for any assistance,

Reading anything back from the display except key stroked is not possible or I2C.

I wish that was explained in the manual. It would have saved me many hours of frustration.

I am still unclear if it is possible to upload bitmaps or fonts with I2C.

No you cannot upload fonts or bitmaps because that requires information to be sent back and forth...
