Just go down to a hardware store and get some silver metallic paint. It works great if you're carefull.

It's not really a mod if it's all plug-and-play, is it?

what would i use to mask the buttons... masking tape. I have a bit of an unsteady hand sometimes, and i would rather have someone paid to do it, like Matrix Orbital. Well thanks for all your help.

I doubt we would be able to make a silver keypad overlay, unless you wanted like 250 of them...

usinf small strips of tape you might be able to mask off the lettering just right.

There is this magic stuff called 'liquid mask'. It paints on and dries, and you can cut it with a razor knive to clean up the edges. Then it peels off. It works on lexan and other plastics. It might be a little hard to find, however. I've got some because I paint remote control truck and car bodies so you might try large hobby stores.

Another option would be to overlay the keypad section with a sticker. There are commercial printers that can print on plastics and stuff. It would be pretty durable.

Good luck.

Those sound like good iedeas with that sticker. Is there anywhere in the site that has a layout of that control pannel that maybe i could give to a sticker maker to make an imprint?

jleach: where did you get your exactly, because maybe i can find a branch of the store and pick some up...

Well Many thanks i looking forward on buying my VFD soon!!
