LEDs & LK204-25PC

I plan to get the LK204-25PC lcd. Can I connect LEDs directly to the GPOs, or do I need to add a limiting resistor?

unless your leds are 12V, then you will need to use resisters.

I want to use 5v LEDs. What type/size resistors should I use?
