(insert 50 pages of profanity here)

K, here's the deal.

I ordered a 204-25V a long time ago. I tested it right away with a cable I made - everything works fine. Then I got caught up doing other stuff for a long time and never finished the project, just boxed the LCD up again.
So today I take it out of the box to continue my mp3 machine project... hook it up, double check to make sure the wire is the specially modded one, turn on the power supply.

Smell of burnt plastic.

Needless to say, my parents weren't too impressed with my language. Now, I double checked the cable to make sure the ground was connected to ground, and 12v to 12v - which it was.

What the hell happened?

The powersupply is a reliable 200w AT PSU I've been using with my p233 system for a long time. There are no bare cables showing anywhere, the connector is put together properly, the LCD wasn't sitting on anything that could've shorted out the circuit.

I'm confused, someone please say something

I should check the invoice if I can find it, but I don't think there's going to be warranty on this is there?
