I know I saw this answer somewhere in this forum, but I can't find it to save my life. But what four line screen can I buy that will fit in a single 5.25 bay? The screen has to be BLUE only!
Thanx,
iJOAT

I beleive the one you might have been looking at was the LK 204-25PC, but that has a white background with blue text. In about two months we will have inverse blue displays for our LCD 2041, LK 204-25 and the coresponding bay insert B2041. These will look identical to the inverse blue LK 202-25's we have now.

There isn't a 4 line alphanumeric display that will fit in a single drive bay. Our graphic GLK12232-25-SM will display 4 lines and will fit in a single drive bay but we currently do not have a bracket developed for it.

If ou feel like you could mount it your self, there is a picture of a overlay/guide to help you mount the GLK12232-25-SM in a single rive bay.

I'm pretty crafty and think I shouldn't have any problems with mounted the GLK12232-25-SM. I'm very interested in this display, but I have some concerns that I hope you can answer for me:
1. Will every feature in LCDC work with GLK12232-25-SM but just the benefit of a graphic display?
2. The unit only allows (2) GPO's. I have a basic understanding of GPO's (turn on fans, neon, play/pause/skip features of WinAmp, etc) but what will I be able to do with only (2) GPO's (I'm not concerned about turning on fans and neons?
3. The unit needs a 5V input. How do I do that? What do I need to buy?
Thanx,
iJOAT

1. LCDC works fine with the GLK12232-25-SM, LCDC is not specificaly written for LCDC at the moment, so you cannot take advantage of the extra features easily (but you can)
2. The unit has 2 GPOs, medium power, about 200mA maximum, so make sure the device you connect to it draws less then that.
3. The GLK12232-25-SM can use a standard unmoddified floppy power cable on the white connector on the back.

Guess I'll stop lurking long enough to say, pausing and moving tracks would be a function of the keypad, which can be used with no GPOs. This unit does allow you to have up to 25 keys.

Thanks all! You've given me some real good insite. I've gotten an AWESOME idea for a keypad. I'll post pics when it's done. You will love it!

Hey Henry I got a quick question about that Graphic display. I know LCDC works great with the Character LCDs, but what are people using to make those WinAmp skins and stuff like that for the Graphic ones? Also will you be making a Graphic LCD that has a different polarization? And will there be one developed with more GPOs and more power? Thanks

AS a side note LCDC will work fine on the Graphic displays but is limited due to the speed of a graphic update in the way I wrote the software. So things like the winamp graphics would probably not look so good, and custom characters etc. won't work - But I do hope to remedy this as some stage

Yeah you can make LCDC do most things... it's a lot of work though!
