I have the following configuration:
GPO1:Fan GPO2:Fan GPO3:Fan GPO4:Fan GPO5:Neon

at the moment I don't have anything connected to the other GPOs.

When I switch the computer on (cold boot) GPOS 1-3 are off by default, and GPOS 4&5 are on by default - ie one fan and the neon come on when I hit the power switch. Once the machine boots and LCDC starts it switches GPO 4 & 5 off.

Is there anyway to program the LCD so that upon boot all the GPOs are off ? It just seems strange that some are on, and some are off.

I haven't tested the other GPOs to see their status on boot as 7 & 8 are unwired, but 6 is wired just nothing connected as yet.

I'd just like to say Matrix Orbital LCDs rock and so does LCDC

i dont think it will work that way docter bob....i beleave we have to return our displays in exchange for ones with new code.....but, considering how fast mo can deliver them, it should only be a few days round trip...

whoa, if thats the case I'll pass. Its not an easy thing (or cheap) to ship it all the way back from Australia.

it isn't that much of a problem...

Too bad we can't flash it...

By the way Henry, with the new version, will we be able to "save" the boot status of the GPO's? would be nice to have some of them turned on at boot

Since PIC16C65 is OTP, is it possible to get only the chip with the new code and change it myself, instead of shipping the display back and forth?

OK, the new code is looking good and the large digits "issue" has been resolved as well!!! (that was holding me up) The GPOs look good and I will be e-mailing all the people who sent me one this week.
