I'm interested in mounting a LK162-12 in a single 5.25 bay of my PC. I'm rather modding inept and really wanted to get as complete a kit as possible, but the PC bay insert kits are all for the 20x2 line displays (and I need to mount this a bit off-center anyway).

So I guess what I'm asking is what parts I need to buy with the LK162-12 (cables and such) to do about the same thing. I'm assuming I'd need the wide voltage version LCD, the serial cable, and the 12v power cable. Correct?

Just curious, how are the PC bay inserts you sell attached to the LCDs anyway? Just wondering so that I can mount mine roughly the same way. Can I just stick a bay cover right to the front of the LCD? I'm aware of the mounting template for sale, but it says something about screws? Just a bit confused...

Thanks for the help

OK, here is what you would want:

LK162-12-V
12V Power Cable
4Ft Serial
MK1621

The way they are mounted is that on the inside are stand offs that the LCD screws into... simple.. you could do the same thing, or go right through the insert and screw it there with a nut. The MK1621 helps you mount by giving you screws and the overlay guide where to drill and cut...

Thanks, that cleared up alot. Just one other thing... what about the -4BR serial cable? Can that be used with any display? It seems that that is the easiest way to run the connection from inside to outside the case.

the -4BR cable is a special cable with a 4 pin header at the end instead of a 9pin serial header, it's used for -4BR displays and the GLK12232-25-WBL and GLK12232-25-SM units.
