Hi,

I'd like to use the LK202-25-V, the Extended Temperature option.

The question is, if the I2C +5V pin can be used to power up the device in place of use the normal power socket whit a 12V+

This becouse I ve both situation ... some place +5v ... some place +12v and and I'll use the I2C bus. So one device can cover all situation.

Tnx. Stefano

Probably, my request was not clear ... sorry.

In other words, my question is: if I've a -V option device connected to a I2C bus, the 12v (or more) power is mandatory, or the device can get power just from the I2C bus ?

The manual is not clear on this point.

Thanks, Stefano

Hello sdellava,

Thanks for your post.

The display is not capable of extracting power from the I2C bus, and this is not possible with the I2C protocol anyways, to my understanding.

You will still need to power the display; since it's a -V, you will need to power it with 9 - 15V. What you will connect to your I2C bus is the SDA/SCL lines plus ground.

I hope this helps.
