Help selecting a display

Hello all,
I'm really interested in using a MO display but am having a little trouble getting the basics down on the hardware.
My goals are more for reporting system status, i.e. various temps, CPU load, and fan control would be nice too. At this point I really don't know what the capabilities of the different hardware is but it appears the MX4,5 (based on the -24-USB display?) have what I need. However these are being discontinued and the -25-USB has much less capabilities. They can only support one temp probe instead of six and the four PWM outputs are being omitted.
Can the capabilities of the -25-USB be expanded or should I jump on a -24-USB while I can still get one?
Thanks for any help in advance,
Ryan

The temperature sensors you can connect provide you with extra readouts incase you want to monitor specific places in your case.
If you just care about reporting on the Fans and temperature sensors already in your system (most modern motherboards come with these sensors build in) Both the -24 and the -25 will happely report on any fan RPM sensor and temperature sensor already in your system without the use of the 1 wire bus.
If you care about fan control you pretty much are limited to the -24 for now since the -25 as you have noted doesn't provide these features.
We have both fancontrol and temperature probe addon boards planned for our USB graphical GX series which but I'm sadly unable to comment on a possible release date for those boards.

Hi Ray, thanks for the response.
Yes I do want the ability to use my own temp sensors for water loop temps, rad intake air temps, etc. etc.. Having the fan control would be nice too to be able to turn up the fans when water temp starts getting too warm. And I have multiple loops so that's quite a few temp sensors.
I'll have a look into the GX series (BTW is there a downloadable manual available?). I appreciate that you can't give release dates but I'm curious if you know some of the planned capabilities. Is there going to be a board that only has so many temp sensor ports and PWM outputs or will I be able to stack boards to give me whatever amount of ports I need?
Thanks again,
Ryan

Judging by your specifications I would at this point in time indeed go for the MX units while you can.
The GX will be able to do the extra features in the future with the appropriate addon boards, but right now the only unit that offers the features you want is the MX, this may be different in a couple of months but for now it is.
The GX allows up to 4 extention boards to be connected so if you indeed wants lots of GPIOs , PWM or 1 Wire busses you can indeed keep stacking them until all 4 slots are full. The exact amount of GPIO's / Sensors /PWM's per board still needs to be finalized though.
I do not have a manual for the GX right now but if you are interested of pictures of the Acutal unit take a look at
this thread.
