hi :D
we r using lk-204-25-e version 2.0 module in our product.we r using rs232 for communication.it worked fine for some days. after somedays it went blank. i am not able to see any character on the screen an backlight is on. when i tried using uproject it did not get detected.
so i placed manual override jumber and tried again. now it is detecting the module. by placing manual override jumber i tried contrast, brightness, display on/off commnads. all are working fine, but when i try to send text to display it is not displaying anything. keypad also not working. when i press any one key i am not getting any response from display on the serial port. after trying all these, i put set remember on, set the baudrate to 19200 using uploader in uproject, i removed manual override jumper and again started trying using uproject. again its not detected. when i place jumper then only it is getting detected, then too not displaying any text. please help me in displaying text, and finding out what could be the problem????????
this problem is only for one module not with all.plz reply soon :nono: :nono:

Hello swetha,

Thanks for your post.

While you have the manual override jump on, please try saving the baud rate using thisguide.

Take the manual override jump off, cycle the power and see that this setting (baud rate) sticks.

I have a feeling that for some reason your module has been inadvertently misconfigured. When the text is not showing up, what comes to mind is Data Lock. This is detailed in Section 11.3 of the manual

Try sending the command 254 / 202 / 245 / 160 / 0 to completely unlock any setting that might have been locked.

Please let me know how it turns out.
Thanks,

thank you for your reply.
i tried all the things that you have told before posting to the forum itself.
we are locking the display through our program but when i set manual override jumper the default values are

Brightness 255
Baud Rate 19.2 kbps
I2C Slave Address 0x50
Data Lock False
RS232AutoTransmitData True
this is the information from your manual, means there should be no lock if we have set manual override jumper. i tried unlock commnad also but there is no response.
i am not getting any response for keypad also, what could be the problem? please help

Hello swetha,

Do you see a start up screen at all?
Also, if you can temporarily take your keypad off the connector, and emulate a keypress by shorting rows and columns of the connector. Make sure that keypad auto transmit is on, and that the debounce time is not too long.

Hello swetha,

There is no format for mailing. You even might just want to give the link of this post, so that RMA dept can track the problem.

Thanks,

Hi Sweta,
I had the exact same problem with my display. Did you fix yours? What did you do?
