Can we get some richer function in WMP or Winamp feedback?

I would like to be able to change the status of the screen depending on if the player is in Pause/Play/RW/FF, etc.
I don't yet see any way to get feedback, except for just displaying the status, instead of changing the output based on the status...
Say I want an animated PLAY file while playing, then change to an animated PAUSE file, or animated RW file, or FF.
Can I make LCDStudio use the Playlist "Active When" dialogue see if WinAmp or WMP11 is in those modes?
Or should I post this up at the LCDStudio forums?
