It's talks about fans not starting at full speed before the LCDC software starts. I find this very worrying. What I consider strange is that the person never got any reply from any MO employee.
So what's deal, why do fans sometimes don't start at 100%. I don't want to fry my system when it runs without using the software (Linux, MSDOS, etc).

Please answer this question, because otherwise I have to look for some other hardware solution.

Thanks for posting!

I believe the post you are referring to may be exeriancing issues with static buildup (or electromagnetic interferance) and this is causing him to experiance irregular operation, however I will not be certain until the problem has been pinpointed.

That said, I would not recommend using an external fan controller to control the fan on your CPU (this goes for all fan controllers). This is because your motherboard has safegaurd features that are designed to see if the fan on your CPU is running, and in order to use an external fan controller you must turn this safegaurd feature off. This would make it possible for you to run your machine even if the fan is not working, which is not good.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't use a fan controller, as I am sure there are more fans in your system than your CPU fan. All of these other fans may be controlled using an MX unit, and if you use temperature probes, you can even control which fan turns on/off depending on the temp that is detected by the probes.
