Well, last night all the water drained out of my water cooled rig here. I have a small crack in the radiator.

Obviously the temperature of the CPU went way up and it eventually crashed. I woke up to the POST screen and the pump whining.

I don't have a peltier strapped to the back of the water block, so it didn't Chernoble on me. In fact, I added some more water, turned it on, and all is fine.

Water cooling - It's like a ferret party in your pants!

It's safe, as long as you don't do it

Well, I rebuilt it with a 6 gallon reservoir and the pump submerged. Actually, it is a sort of radiator/evaporation combo. I don't know WHAT I'm going to do about the hard water...

Watercooling is perfectly safe, I've been using my setup for 4 months now, and it's still running fine. I'm using a Spir@l block and a "bong" evaporative cooler. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check the [H]ard Forums. I guess your system isn't completely enclosed in the case, since you're usinga 6 gallon res. I'd suggest trying to seal up the small crack in the res with something.
