I know I should really refrain from posting this (since I'm a way from releasing it) but I've got a control shell for *NIX boxen running Perl that uses the Perl module that Anders Brownworth wrote. Once I can whip it into releaseable state, I'll let 'er rip. I've been a painting demon lately, but it's rainging (and the fumes are wearing off...)
The Windows software side seemed pretty well covered

:) so I thought I'd focus on the Perl end. I'm also planning to extend his module somewhat for the newer units. I contacted him about it and he's given me a green light.
I'd really like to make it work under Perl on Win32, but that would require a substantial rewrite of his module and I ain't ready to go there.

One more app for the list: LCDInf. (
www.bosselaar.net/lcd)
Written by me, has just a few features (cpu and memory stats), very low CPU usage ( <3% on a P166!!), and only for parallel LCD's (hd44780).
I'm currently adding features, en doing a rewrite to support multiple drivers, so I can add support for serial LCD's. Support for serial LCD's will be added once I have a test model, but I'm not planning on buying one at the moment (at least not before I can do multiple drivers and have read the specs).

Very nice! Appologies for the bad pic (should hace closed the curtains!),
I really like the variable length blobks in the mem and cpu indicators

(much smoother than whole block indicators). I couldn't get the clock to work in Win XP - just said 'Not her' in the top right hand corner of the display?
Cheers,
r.

Ah.. that's correct.. you are using 0.2 beta, and the clock is something that I already put in the menu. I am doing a complete rewrite now, and I didn't put in the clock yet. Watch out while using 0.2 beta though! After running for a while, it will probably crash, due to anot so good inplementation of (virtually unlimited) multiple screens.
It will be there in de next version, as well as a few other features.
Currently working on:
- Bandwidth monitor (bytes in/out per sec)
- Winamp song + title
- better support for 1x16,2x16,4x16,1x20,2x20,4x20,1x40,2x40,4x40 LCD's (hd44780)
- cleaning up the code so adding new drivers will be more easy for me.
- multiple screen support (for when I have more features

)
- and still keeping the program as fast as possible.
