Temp sensing question

I was looking at buying the mx212 to run my fans and temp sense. Nothing else to fancy. But I was wondering is there anyway to setup the display to shutdown my comp if it reaches a certain temp to prevent any problems?
Also is there any difference between the 212 and 232 besides the keypad?
I assume anything the keypad controls i can do via the software?
Thanks for your time.

Hi Grunnsetning,
It is very possible to have your system shut off, once it hits a certain temperature. You can use either the Speed Fan, Hwmonitor, or MM5 plugins to have set up an event with LCDC.
If you are not familiar with the LCD control software LCDC, you can get information on it at
http://www.lcdc.cc/about.htm
The only difference between the 212 and 232 is the keypad. Functionality wise, they both work the same way. Any keypad controls or even your pc controls is done via the software. You won't be able to control the device without any software.
If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel freee to post them.
Best Regards,

Thanks alot for the info, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Only thing that delayed me in my purchase was a b**ch named katrina =/
Forced me to move and damaged my house, so I have to wait on my purchase. I will get one though =)
