Homemade Temperature Sensors

Hey all,
I'm about to make my first buy of a Matrix Orbital display and I've chosen the MX620 (PK202-24-USB). I'd like to use the temperature sensor features on it, but frankly I don't want to pay $10 a pop for sensors. Does anyone know the part numbers/names of the actual sensor that is compatible with this display, and where you can get them? I've seen the postings about using the WOL cable connectors for the ends, so I'm not worried there, but I want to make sure I get the right sensor. Any help would be appreciated!
