Getting started with the GLK12232-25... displays

Hello,
I am about to purchase a GLK12232-25-SM or -WBL display and I have a couple questions.
First, what are the differences between the -SM and -WBL displays? Looking through the manuals for each, it seems like the only difference is the arrangement of pins and the additional TTL option for the -SM display. Is this all?
Second, how are the displays attached to a computer? The manuals mention that a power connector and a serial cable are needed. For the serial cable, it seems like the "Serial Cable -4BR" would suffice. However, it seems like a power connector would not be necessary because the "Serial Cable -4BR" seems to be bringing 5V to the display. Is this true? Otherwise, what power connector would I use?
Please help.
