Hi,
OK, where to begin......
Firstly, I am a computer technician at a local computer shop, and hardware guru, hence the purchase of Matrix Orbital displays and the like.
I was the first to purchase one of these - a MX212, then my work collegues were so impressed that they also purchased displays from yourselves - another MX212 and a MX412 4-line display.
We have all owned these for around 1 year now, and have noticed things that lead me to believe these displays have 'fault patterns' like TV's / VCR's and the like......
The operating criteria of all the displays is the same - i.e. they are all driving case fans according to system temperature, so they are all connected to the PC PSU using the FDD connector.
These are the things that has gone wrong - mine went first, been the oldest!......
1> upon switching the PC on - the display is full of gobbledigook! (corrupt)
I have used the 'Bootedit' program to alter the 'Startup' screen - TO NO EFFECT (yes I did save changes to the display)
2> The front panel buttons no longer work! - I know mine has definitely knackered and I think my collegues MX212 has as well
3> Occasional corruption of display characters when Windows is running, between switching screens, such as bargraphs becoming corrupted - again both MX212's suffer this to my knowledge.
Apart from that everything else is fine.
I hope some 'Tech' at Matrix Orbital has some good news for me and my collegues regarding solutions to these problems.
Kind Regards
Andy

Hi Andy,
Thank you for posting.
I can send you another program for changing your boot screen. Email me at tlam@matrixorbital.ca .
Can you short a row and a column with a piece of wire to check whether the keypad interface is still working. I want to eliminate the possibility that the keypad not working is the display or the keypad.
The garbage characters you get once in awhile is a software issue. The display needs software to send any text, so the software will send the garbage.
Best Regards,
