If anyone is interested I have a large quantity of WOL cables for use with MO displays and Dallas one wire sensors. These cables are 12" long and have the small WOL on each end that fit the connector. I know these are hard to find so when I came across these I bought all they had (a few hundred). I'm not looking to make a killing, just recoup some of the cost and help others out in the process. PM me or email me if your interested, you won't be disappointed.

These cables are used with the Dallas one wire temperature sensors.

How but explain an example of how you use it... Why woudl you want to connect the WOL to your LCD?

The reason he talks about WOL cables is, that the header on the USB models is a WOL header, a 3 pin strange little header, and computer network cards have the same header and most networks cards are provided with a WOL cable. This is why I chose that header, because of these little cables are in excess at little computer stores, we have pillaged hundereds from a local store ;) So when you get a WOL, you cut it in half and all of a sudden you have the rigth header to connect to the display, and with the other end of the cable you can connect temp probes, or any other 1-wire device. Hope this explains it.

Also, this is not a for sale/trade forum, we might make one in the future, I do not want to be draconian, but please ask permision next time, as on occasion I may allow threads such as this.

Sorry Henry

Sorry I took the liberty of posting this for sale message without asking but I myself have had a VERY hard time finding these without also purchasing the LAN card that goes with it. I mean, how many LAN cards can one accumulate? I have MO displays running on multiple machines some of which run 24/7 and temperatures are of a great concern to me. I purchased over 400 of these cables which have the same WOL connector on both ends and the Dallas 1 wire just slides into one end and the other plugs into the MO display. (I'll post a picture if allowed.) This eliminates the need to cut and solder and makes for easy removal if you super glue the temperature probe to to a componant. Again I apologize, but am just looking to help out other users of this invaluable display. As I stated, I'm not looking to make a killing on these but just ask for $ .50 each plus shipping. I think this could be beneficial to all of us and I would hope that you approve of this post and do not remove it.

I'm not worried about your post ;) just clarifying rules and setting future precedence. I know you can't make a fortune off these and all you are doing is trying to help the community, so that's why I don't mind. As far as finding the cables, I had a very easy time here in Calgary, every store I went to offered to hand me a ton of these, as none of them used them.. that was the reason for me choosing these headers/cables... plus I think they look good and are a good size...
