Due to the gap between the VFD surface and the frontplate of the MX520 I cannot see the upper 2 lines when I look at my PC, which is placed on the floor .
Is it possible to move the VFD closer to the frontplate so that the display can be viewed from this angle ?

Hello greenland,
Thanks for the question. Yes, it is possible to mount the display closer to the faceplate, however you will not want it touching due to grounding issues. As you will notice there are a couple of spacers used when mounting the display. You may try and removing one of the spacers to bring the display closer to the faceplate. Please be advised we keep this distance for precautionary reasons, so there is no chance that the display will touch the faceplate. Use your discretion!

I have a technical background, so this should be fine. But why can't the display touch the fronplate ? The upper portion of the VFD is made of glass,, which is almost an ideal isolator.
Which kind of screws are used here ? M3 ?

Your absolutely correct, glass is an excellent isolator when it is used in such a matter. This is something that has been done since we started installing VFD's into a bay insert. This display uses CIG technology and mounting it in such a manner may cause issues.
The types of screws we use for installation are 4/40 5/8".

I will add some tape to the backside of the front panel to be on the safe side.....

Just another note of CAUTION: After further conversations with our head engineer, if the display is against the faceplate and tightened too much, there is a chance of the glass breaking and your display will be inoperable. Again use your discretion!!
Let me know how you make out!!
