Are you referring to the cable shown at http://www.matrixorbital.com/pages/acce ... =2&CatID=5, the 4br cable ?

SERIAL CABLE -4BR -4BR serial cable for the GLK12232-25-WBL and GLK12232-25-SM. Included with the BLK202A-4BR series.

The GLK12232-25-WBL communication pins are slightly different than the GLK12232-25-SM. If you do the following modifications to the 4BR serial cable, it should work. Please start by interchanging the orange and green wires. The new configuration starting from pin 1 will be black, green, then orange.

No luck.

If I use original order black, green, orange, the LCDC detect screen say com1 and com2 open/close. (nothing detect)

If I switch oder to black, orange, green the LCDC detect screen show unknown device on com1 and the LCD screen show " Screen \detct:N.A."

Try doing it manually without the auto detect. Then change the definition file to glk12232. You should use the modification I told you about.

Still no luck!

I'm try manually setup the LCDC setting, When I try to run the LCDC program, the LCD screen still remain "Graphics in any direction.", nothing happen. :grr:

I order the same model and just receive today and try it, it work prefectlly.

What can I do the defect LCD? I have to pay 2 way shipping ( Total $42 USD ) for $75.99 stuff for exchange? :o

Have you tried the MO diagnostic program? I've got the same module, and I was having trouble with lcdproc until I figured out that the thing was responding with FF to the 'identify yourself' command instead of the correct value. I hacked lcdproc to handle this - maybe you have the same problem? Anyway, the MO program works OK.

My lcd is on my home machine - I'll look into this for you tonight.

I don't think it was hard to test it using the MO program, I can't remember what it's called, but it's the most recent one.

cheers

Hi Webcat,

On the eCD you received with your module, there is a variety of test software that you can use to test the module with. The test software that I would recommend is called mogd.exe. In addition to using mogd.exe, can you also try performing a manual override. A maunal override is to be used if for some reason the module is set at a baud rate which cannot be produced by the host system and all communication to the display is lost. The steps to perform this function are as follows:

1. Turn off the display
2. Put a jumper on pins 5 and 6 of the keypad connector.
3. Power up the display. The baud rate is now set to 19,200.
4. Remove the jumper and change the RS-232 port settings to the desired baud rate if required.
5. Turn off the display.
6. Power up the display.

Ifyou have any questions regarding the manual override procedure, feel free to post! Let me know how you make out and we will proceed accordingly!! :D
