hi everyone, i am fairly new to the Linux scene, bu i am making a carputer and just about everyone in the forums are telling me that linux is the way to go, particularly the DSL or Damn Small Linux, i own a Matrix Orbital MX212 20x2 USB LCD display, and it works fine with LCDC under a windows environment, but last time i checked, you cant install LCDC on linux, because they only make a windows version

so can anyone help me out finding drivers and reccomend a good program?, although i do not know anything about writing my own programs :(

any help is greatly apriciated, thanks guys

You may be in luck. This link at http://lcdproc.omnipotent.net/?continue=yes has display drivers for linux boxes. Try this and let me know how things work for you.
