Install Problems

Post by Archituethis »

I was tweaking up the pc and added an internal usb card,
(the usb works) fired up LCDC and recieved 'cannot read on port 3' message. Then I removed and tried to reinstall,...
1) I cant for the life of me remember how I did it the last time.
2) Windows didn't automatically detect it.
2) The device manger shows it MX2 but says the disc is missing drivers or corrupt.
4) I can't live without my MX2

Is there an autoplay, or updated driver out now? If so please leave a link here. I'm not literate, just verbose,.... :eyebrow:

Halfway There

Ok, discovered how to install the usb drivers and MX2 now glows a beautiful blue, but when I installed the current LCDC and LCDC update the screen would not work. I've unistalled and cleaned the registry, what am I doing wrong?

Your help would be appreciated,.... 8)

Still Trying

Post by Archituethis »

I did everything I could think of. On 'Configure test', I get the message;

"Error reading ComComboxPort.ComProperty: Registry error (win error code:2)

Hopefully this doesn't mean I have to reformat 'C' drive and reinstall the OS, anxiously awaiting a reply,...

Works Fine on the other pc,...

Post by Archituethis »

I finally became annoyed and installed it on the other PC I have to see if it was broken, not. Installed it in 10mins, I'm a pro now. My problem is obviously due to the new card reader I installed. I'll buy a MX210 (green) and have a tech dood figure out the ports. 1 Matrix Orbital is good, 2 is even better. Thanks for the forum, hardware issues are lesson in patience.

Happy Holidays Folks!

Thanks for all the support too, (heh, sarcasm)... <:)

What to Expect

Post by Archituethis »

Hi Tom,..
Since I have two PC's with almost identical parts, I can swap things to check if they're broken; what will happen when I install the MX210? The card reader I put in is a 'SilverStone 6-1' that connects to a usb hook up on the MBM.

1) Will it happen again?
2) Why did it block 'com 3'
3) How do I allow 'com 3' open
4) Explain 'ports'

Sytsem Spec's:
CoolerMaster Aluminum Case
500 watt Ultra Power Supply
Abit IC7-MAX3 MBM
3.2p4 Clocked to 3.6
Nvidia 6800 gt Clocked to 350core/100.4memory
2 gigs 3200ddr
Duall Raptor Hd's in raid 0
Duall WD Caviar HD's...D and E
Pioneer DVD rom
Plextor 708a
Creative Audigy 2z5
Matrix Orbital MX2
SilverStone card reader
LianLee floppy

If you could give some advice on ports and why the card reader took over and rendered the MX2 unoperable, I would be gratefull. ty

I'm home alone playing pc games, quite sad actually. :P

A port is a communication channel that the PC or a controller uses. There may be a conflict on the com 3 where the card reader and the display maybe trying to access the port at the same time. There are many possibilities on which driver or device has been conflicting with the display. Every computer is different so it is hard to say. Try hooking up the display again with the card reader. It may work for you the second time around.
