You can start with plugging in an unmodified floppy connector and making sure the jumper below your fan headers is set at the furthest left as shown on the picture below.

If you are using LCDC, you need to configure your fan in the Configuration/Test section. For help on this, go to the link http://www.lcdc.cc/help/configuration.htm#amxxgpo, and the section for configuring your fan will be at GPO PWM/RPM control.
I hope this gives you a good jump start.

Excellent!!! You can program it in the events now. Maybe you can program a key to turn off the fan, and another to turn on the fan.

Thanks for your help, but im still a bit stuck,
for a start i dont think i have a keypad (theres no buttons on the screen mount)
What id like to do is be able to turn the fan on/off by clicking on the tool tray, ive been playing and i can get my cd drive to pen in this way but not the fan as i cant find the "Gpo Andvanced" bit.
thx again

Do you have the display configured to have the fan GPO be set manually in screen builder? You will be able to see the "Gpo Advanced" bit after you set this configuration up. The configuration is in the picture below. You can possibly try turning the fan on by using a hotkey event on your keyboard. Just a suggestion.
