Why is my VFD sometimes not detected!?? Help!

Post by gizmo1990 »

After some SERIOUS modding, I've finally got my nice VFD shoe horned into my itsy Shuttle 75G2.

The VFD I have is a VK202-24-USB and I'm running XPpro SP2

However theres a problem. :( Sometimes the Shuttle does not detect the VFD and I cannot work out why??
After a few tests it seems to do this only when the pc is cold booted, ie when it has been booted up after being switched off and unplugged from the wall socket. However if I restart the machine the VFD is detected fine. It is also detected ok if I shut down the machine and then physically turn it on again.

So to recap, this problem occurs when I turn the machine on after it has been turn off 'completely' from the wall socket.

Could someone please tell me why it is doing this? Its driving me nuts!!

Try uninstalling and reinstalling all your display USB drivers. If you don't have the latest drivers you can download them at the link below.

Thanks for the reply Tom.

Is the latest driver V12? If so could you tell me when it was released?

I'm pretty sure I've got the latest version but I can't check just now.

The latest driver is V12, and it was released on Jan 16, 2003.

Completely install all your MO USB drivers and reinstall them.
