VFD's correct orientation?

Sorry if this sounds incredibly stupid but I can't afford to make a mistake with my mod! I have yet to test my VFD, I'd rather try it when it's properly attached to my case rather then risk shorting it just to test it.
I'd just like to check the correct orientation of my VFD, ie which way is up?
Basically I take it that the serial number on the front of the VFD as you look at it denotes the correct orientation?

When the board is facing you, the USB port should be on the right hand corner. The GPO's and the temperature probe inputs should be on the left side. Hope this helps you out.

Hmm, that means that its not what I thought it would be?
I don't want to question someone who works at Matrix Orbital

but are you sure about that?
Here's a quick diagram of what I thought was the correct way up? Is this right or wrong?

Unless of course when you say 'When the board is facing me' you mean the VFD's rear circuit board instead of it's glass front. In that case its the way I originally thought?

You have it right in your picture. When I meant the board facing you, I meant the back of the LCD, and the screen is facing away from you.
