NO CPU fan on PC startup - using Matrix Orbital MX212

Hi guys,
This is my first post here. Pleased to meet you all.
I have (today) just acquired a Matrix Orbital MX212 LCD display unit, and am thus far very impressed with it, except for one thing......
I have modified my Coolermaster Aero 7+ heatsink fan, so that it can be driven by the 3-pin connector on the MX212.
When I turn the PC on - the CPU fan does not cut in!
Upon starting Windows - I have to run the LCDC software to start the fan going - is there any way of making the CPU fan start once the machine has been turned on?
There is not much documentation regarding the GPO's on the MX212
Apparently, according to the specification - the max supply current per GPO is 1A @ 12V - and the Aero 7+ draws 0.9A @ 12V - so that can't be a problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Andy
