Can the size of the GLK12232-25 be compared with the LK204-25? Could I squeeze the same amount of characters (or even more) as on the LK204-25?

The GLK12232-25 was made with the intent of being a direct replacement for alphanumeric 4x20 LCDs. Physically the LCD2041/LK204-25 are exactly same size as the GLK12232-25. And if you use the default font the GLK will act like a 4x20 LCD...

Thanks for your mega-fast reply! This is then the display I'll need!
by the way. Is the backlight shining with constant illumination, or can it be changed in any way (eg. 0 - 100%)?

and only on/off through software (that I've seen) - though adding a variable resistor to be able to dim it by hand would be very easy
Cheers,

p.s. With the small font you can get quite a few more chars on the screen - but the character lengths are not fixed so it varies depending on what you're displaying (i.e. you could fit a lot of i's on the screen and not many Z's).
