can Dallas 1-wire probes communicate with Girder ? :-?

I am using the VK204-24-USB with DS18S20 1-wire Dallas probes to measure case temperatures.
I am able to read the temps using the MXtest program or LCDC.

However, I wish to use Girder to communicate with the GPOs and therefore read the probes temperature. Ideally I do not want to run LCDC in the background as it would seem like bloatware to me for just reading the temperature. I am already able to communicate with the device via Girder's LCD Driver plugin. I assume it is not possible to communicate with another program if one application has already established communication with the device. Therefore, I think my only option is to somehow send RAW commands to the device for temp readings?

Is this possible?

Regards,

Marc.

Hello...

Unfortunately you are correct in your assumption. On page 26 of the manual under section 6, an indepth description is given on 1-wire commands. :)

I have looked at adding better support for the VK204-24-USB in Girder. However, there are discrepencies in the manuals and I do not have one to experiment with. See, for instance, this post.
