LK202-24-USB dead?

Bought mine second hand off one guy who came back to Malaysia from the states. Problem is, on powering it up it doesnt show the MO bootup text. It just shows a blank scren. The backlighting all works though.

LCDC detects the unit fine, and adjusting intensity, lighting etc all show the unit responding in kind. Only thing is, text doesnt appear.

I've tried using display tuner to reset the baud rate, as detailed in the tuner.html file on the CD. Doesnt work.

LCDC detects the device as being version 33.

No other real markings on the device except some writing on the pack saying '03M04-085' written in a fine tipped sharpie.

Any help would rock, thanks!

Hello...

Can you adjust the contrast up/down???

Yep.

Adjusting the contrast, brightness etc using display tuner all works, just that when I try sending text to the LCD, nothing happens.

So much for the vaunted tech support of MO. Granted, my unit may be 2nd hand goods, but its really disappointing to see that even queries like these dont get any airtime.

I was planning to simply buy another in the event my unit is really dead, but I think ill take my business elsewhere.

As you're questions were posted during the weekend, you can't expect instantaneous support from us. If you have been waiting for a few business days I would say your concerns were justified. So please have some patience, on monday I'm sure Miles will have posted excellent support.

Are you using an internal usb or external? I used internal usb and mixed the data wire around and didnt plug it into the right pin. It didn't fry anything just no data. :)

With a situation like this, it can only be a couple different things...Since you can turn the backlight off/on, adjust the contrast up/down, you can obviously communicate with the module. Basically, what it boils down to is, unless you ship it back to me and I put in on the scope, I really can't help you any further. There is only so much troubleshooting we can do via conversations...

Thanks. I think i'll try shipping it over. What address do I ship it over to? Attention to?

Oh, and i'd like to apologise, Henry & Miles, I realise it was over the weekend. My bad, was getting upset with the turn of events around me for the past weeks.
