New to LCDs

Hello all,

I just bought a couple of MX212s with an eye towards an application on Windows XP embedded. I had thought LCDC was an SDK but I see now I was mistaken. However, there seems to be a number of generic LCD programs for linux and other OSs running around that talk to a number of LCDs including Matrix Orbital stuff.

So I'm getting the feeling that there is a standard protocol for LCDs that I don't know about. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

My goal is to be able to write a completely custom C program to drive the MX212 screen and read the keypad. (Apart from the USB driver that is. I can probably beat that thing onto my XPe box... no need to reinvent the wheel.)

All help, links and references are much appreciated.

Regards,
Royce

Ok. I just figured out that the MX212 is really the LK202-24-USB_01 and have d/l'ed the manual. I think I'm set.

I just needed some caffine.

Thanks anyway,
Royce

Glad to see you awake :) I'm on my second cup here this morning. The manual currently available is for the 1.0 and 1.1 PCBs only, check the back of the LK202-24-USB to see what yours is. It might be a 1.4 if it's from a MX2. The 1.4 PCB manual is coming and should be done soon. The 1.0 and 1.1 manual will work fine, just wont cover the new stuff, like the Advanced GPOs and the 1 wire bridge.
