Hello,

I'm planning on mounting the LK204-25PC inside the computer. What is the best way to connect the LCD to the serial port (DB9) outside the computer. TIA!

MO has a spiffy kit for that--you get a slot insert with a DB9 and a patch cord that's male-to-female DB9, so the only thing you see off the back panel is a short patch between two DB9 connectors. Very classy.

Don't know the part number or anything, but I'm sure Henry will be about shortly to clean up after me....

I think I saw that on the accessories page. After looking closley it looked like the other end of the DB9 connector was an IDC. But perhaps the part you are referring to is probably available and I didn't see it. If that's the case, that would be perfect. Thanks Linear!

the -4BR connector is a molex header. It is only on by default on BLK/BVK202A-4BR displays. GLK12232-25 and GLK12232-25-SM can use it as well..

I recommend taking a dremel and griding down a little slit on a slot cover for the back and making a small line of a slit on the top and run the cable throught that

i find the flat cable from mo is great for a clean install....ive got it mounted in my lian-li with double sided tape....dont use to much, just a piece every 6 inches or so...i run it outside the case through the bottom most pci slot cover, and mount it flat against the back.....looks neat as far as im concerned.....(though i think im going to change it to go up and along the top of the case, exiting under the power suppily....

One each of the first and last items on the accessories page is what I had in mind (but was too lazy to provide linkage earlier).

My soldering skills are pretty sloppy;) What I might do is just cut a rounded small exit out of the back plate and snake the rounded serial connector out. Thanks to all who replied BTW.

hopefully you have a motherboard with a
com 2 internal connector, use the internal-> external connector direct on the lcd..
no ugly cable going back into case from outside....

Buy a motherboard like mine

ASUS CUSL2 C

Has a headed on the board that connects to a second serial port. Just take the serial connector off the slotin card they give you for it and you don't even have to have any cables outside your PC mines all internal.

Class
