Nice New MX2

Fan control via temp probe...nice! I knew MO had to come out with this in order to keep up with CF's 633 fan-control LCD. The new MX2 is much better (although I would like to have seen a facelift, especially a new keypad, which is the CF 633's best asset).

Thanks
The 633 has nothing on this unit... the keypad, {shrug} maybe... by doing it how we did we were able to add more keys at least. Also, we can sense RPM and dow PWM at the same time... and allot of other hardware features which make our unit much better to theirs... did you see the the MX GPO Bus?

I have the MX212 and would like to get the new one. Is there any way to distiguish between the older (ie non controlling) LCD? I don't want to order another MX212 and have it be the same one as the one I have now.
Side note - is there a way to upgrade the existing MX212 to include the new features? I just got mine less than 4 mo ago.

There is no way to upgrade to the new one with the old one... there have been ALLOT of hardware changes... As for how to get the new one... if you are buying from a distributor you will have to ask them, the PCB will be rev 1.4 on the back... if you buy direct from us, any orders after July 1st 2003 will be the new ones.

Which is why I don't understand why you guys didn't give it a new model number. That would make it less confusing for everyone.

Is it possible to replace just the LCD/PCB portion and keep my existing Bay insert components? I see you sell the LCD stand alone for $75. I could save some $ by just replacing the LCD/PCB.
Are you going to come out with an aluminum bay insert with a keypad?

Discounted upgrade on 4 month old computer hardware? Yo! Computer hardware becomes old school in 4 WEEKS, let alone 4 months.

LOL - I never asked for a discount!
I understand computer hardware becomes obsolete. My point in asking is that in some cases hardware is upgradeable. If I could have upgraded just the parts to give the additional features instead of purchasing a new unit altogether, I would have gone down that path (which I cannot). However, if I do have the option of just upgrading a portion of the bay insert then I will. Otherwise, I will just buy a new bay insert. No biggy, but it does not hurt to ask.
No need for the sarcasm please.
