Hi all.
To give you an idea of what this program will look like here's a screenshot.

Ghoast:

Have you considered making this app "multipurpose" like others have.
By that I mean, it supports CyrstalFontz, Matrix, and any other makers out there.
After all, they all use the serial port to connect, the users (us) get the benefit of a "live & kicking" application.
And the developer (you) gets the benefit of a LOT of users all supplying feedback/ideas etc.

You win, we win, it's good.
Think about it.

TechGuyOne.
P.S. the screenshot looks cool

Hi all and merry x-mas.
A new version of LCDstats is available at http://w1.262.telia.com/~u26209407/LCDstats.zip

New stuff besides from that this version actually works  is:

*New GUI
*GPO control: on, off or temperature controlled (intended for the LK204-25-PC)

The old stuff is still: temps, fans, voltages, cpu speed, cpu load, mem load, HDD monitoring, uptime and time.

Try it and tell me what you think.

Update:
Added network total MB sent/recieved and current transfer rate in KB/s. This function was to buggy to be included in the previous version but should work now.
App version is now 2.1.0

edit: update

That is *almost* exactly what I am looking for and was planning to do myself

I am using it with a VK204-25 VFD and it works well. Some points I have found thus far:

The hour is not displayed correctly on the "uptime" display instead it shows 0D00. (unless that means 0 days and 00 hours)

To use with the VFDs the cursor blink needs to be turned off else the display flickers.

Would you consider adding the ability to read the keypad and assign keypresses to the GPO's ? Then it would be perfect.

This is going to be one helluva piece of software. Well done mate.

I'm having e-mail problems... where do I configure it to display?

LCDstats turns off VFD cursors now. I also added the option to change display size, 16X2,20X2,20X4 and 40X4. It now tells you how many new e-mails there are and you can change VFD brightness. Keypad GPO control is a good idea which i will add next
Macro: could you test if the VFD brightness and cursor works? btw, i changed the uptime to display it like this: 1d04h23m21s

The links are the same as before to the installer and the sourcecode. App version is now 2.1.1

Just tried it out on my 12232 graphical lcd and it works well  A slight jumble when it's changing screens but it sorts itself out every time

Cheers,

r.

Ghoast - The VFD brightness works but is reversed. ie. 0=bright, 3=dim.

The display on/off works fine but the blinking cursor still blinks, there doesn't appear to be an option to stop it. The decimal codes are cursor on=74 off=75 and blink on=83 off=84.

A minor point: Adjusting lcd contrast diplays the control string on the display (on a VFD)

Looking good
