MX212 cold cathode hookup

Hey there people, I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks getting my display set up (and loving the results btw), and I hate for my first post to be a 'help me' but...such is life.

I'm trying to run a cold cathode with inverter from a high power gpo. The stats on the cc are: 2.85 W , 12V into inverter, CCFL voltage:200~1000 V, CCFL current: 5 mA (= output of inverter).

I've connected the floppy power to the display back, connected the CCFL via a female style connector, and set up screens for gpo status and events for toggling gpo on/off via the keypad.

So, here's the problem:
Only about half the CCFL is actually lighting up, AND it is brighter when the gpo status is 'off' than it is when gpos status is 'on'.
I've read elsewhere in the forums where toggling on/off repeatly eventually turned the CCFL on fully, but I've tried this a good 30 times to no avail.

Any tidbits of info would be appreciated.

Oh, yes, the CCFL was working properly before.

Did you move the jumper to tell the LCD to use high power instead of low power?

Well, the jumper came on the right most position, which should be the high power configuration, right?

I think so... can you test it with a voltmeter, and also remember that only the top 3 (I think) GPO's are turned to High power when that jumper is set.

Hmm..from the way the manual reads, it sounds like the jumper just sets 4,5,6 to 5/12 V. I don't see a lot of sense in having high power gpo's if you have to set the whole series (1-6) to high.
Unfortunately, I am currently without a voltage meter.

As a standard, all the GPOs' supply 5v. If you move the jumper to the high powered position and connect a standard floppy power cable then 4/5/6 (the bottom three) get set to 12v GPO's Honest guv :) Sorry I wasn't thinking clearly before. Does this do the same on 4,5, and 6?
