HI

Ive just got my MX212 USB Display and when I booted window up it installed the display perfectly under "Matrix Orbital MX2xx USB Driver", however when I try to install the USB Serial Port the drivers try to install the port under the same name "Matrix Orbital MX2xx USB Driver" and Windows dosn't allow two hardware installation of the same name so the Serial Port will not install therefore LCDC wont recognise it and the entire thing is useless. :(

What do I do and I've tried all the drivers and I dont think I want to install Windows XP again as someone suggested :nono:

Ok, Ive fixed it now.

Just have to make sure the CD drivers arnt installed at all otherwise WIndows will keep using them. I has to remove all the drivers from my machine and the V10 drivers worked the best.

Cheers, Im off to play with my new display :P

Can you be more specific about how you solved the problem? I'm having the same problems myself.

Ive just got my MX222 USB Display and when I booted window up it installed the display perfectly under "Matrix Orbital MX2xx USB Driver", but the :wall: wont install. I dont want to go to the extreme of reinstalling windows xp from scratch as some people seem to suggest. There must be a work around, i have never had any other problems with any hardware that i have installed. There seems to be a lot of people with the same problem, so wheres the patch to corect the problem. :jawdrop:

Ok

The problem lies with the drivers on the CD apparently the wrong drivers were placed on the CD or somthin. If you install the device under this Windows will copy them to your driver folder and use them for the device constantly.

You need to download the V10 drivers and then extract them to a folder on your computer.

(hope the guys wont mind me placing a link here <:) )

Now you need to make sure these files are used otherwise Windows will use the CD drivers which is why re-installing windows works because it removes the CD drivers from the folder.

Uninstall both the Display and USB Serial Port from the device manager and then search for new hardware when the Display is located select choose the driver manually and then select to choose the driver specifically yourself.

Now make sure you go to the folder with the V10 drivers in and select the driver needed windows will now use the new V10 drivers and repeat this for the USB Serial Port. Both should now be installed sucessfully and ready to use.

Let me know if you still have problems :geek:

p.s. its worth the hassle the display is SOOO much fun and so pwetty :P

USB serial port IT WORKS
