If you want it to connect an LCD, we do offer USB modules...

Jeez, Miles, just walk 3 steps to Henrys desk, look at the USB to Serial converter there and tell the man what kind it is!. It works very well.

funny story about that....i don't know what it is......................however when I check under the usb manager it describes it as a prolific USB to Serial converter.........go figure!!!!!!!!!!!!

The name you mentioned seems to be the name of a chipset for USB to Serial conversion, not a particular brand of converter.

ANy one will do fine, go ahead and buy the cheapest one you can find, because the most expencive and cheapest are probably the exact same thing. There is only a handful of USB 2 Serial chip manufacturers which get used in probably all of these cables.
