GLK12232-25 v2 Not responding

Got a problem. I have a GLK12232 connected to a microcontroller for control, this has been working fine for months but recently I apparently flooded it with information causing it to freak out, it would randomly display images and garbled lines and not respond to commands.
A few hours ago I took it off the MCU and hooked it up to my computer to reset it and get it back to working order (the overflow had happened before, I figured it'd be a quick fix). It worked at first, I was able to toggle the backlight a few times so I figured I was ok. But now I can get no response from the device whatsoever. I've done a manual override, tried to wipe module memory (not like I'd know if it worked or not) even tried several other serial ports on other machines, no luck.
Wondering what else I can try, I'll do anything, this is VERY unfortunate timing for a failure if that is indeed what it is.

Hello...
When you perform a manual override, can you turn the contrast up/down, backlight off/on? At what baud rate are you communicating at? To avoid overflow you can try putting delays in transmission of data.

Nope, the manual override seems to do nothing...
I short C5 to R1, power it up, then power it down, remove the short and start it up and try to talk to it @ 19.2kbps but it doesn't respond to anything.
I do plan on putting delays into my code but that's only after I have an LCD to talk to!

Can you send me an email and we can discuss some RMA options. I will probably need to put the unit on a scope to figure out what it's doing....

You said, you jumper, power up and the power down then try to talk to it, that doesn't work. the manual override is only on when the unit is powered up with the jumper and then you try to talk to it. The manual override does not reset the display, it just bypases seettings in the memory chip during that power up.

I have the exact same problem. Just now it just failed to work entirely. Before that it worked for a short time, but after that everything got scrambled and later the board failes alltogether..
My LCD is a little older though. It has been lying around here for quite some time before I got the time to work with it. Now I have the time but no working LCD

Can you turn the backlight off/on, contrast up down? If not, try to perform a manual override:
1. Turn off the display
2. Put a jumper on pins 5 and 6 of the keypad connector.
3. Power up the display. The baud rate is now set to 19,200.
4. Remove the jumper and change the RS-232 port settings to the desired baud rate.
5. Turn off the display.
6. Power up the display.
Can you communicate now?

Sorry it took me so long to answer. I wanted to install windows to test is with the windows software, just to rule out misconfigurations in Linux.
I put on the jumper, powered it up and down and removed the jumper. I installed MOGD and tried with that.
I can communicate with the LCD, but no test apear on screen. I can adjust the backlight. I can put drawings on the screen with the drawing tool. I have tried uploading the clean and small font, that are included in MOGD. The download goes fine, but when I write text to the LCD still nothing apears.

I did some more testing. I do get some text on it now, but no bargraphs. Is this a font issue? Can I download the standard font somewhere?
Another thing is that the screen is very dark when I look straight at it. When I look at it from an angle it is okay. I tried different backlight settings, but that doesn't solve it.

Our default font can be loaded using Mogd and it's in our downloads section under fonts called "small filled". Can you adjust contrast up and down? If you can, try saving an appropriate contrast level...

I think I know what the problem is. I'm using the LCD on an EPIA v8000 motherboard. Which doesn't have a standard COM port. Other voltages and such. I can get the LCD working on my other computer, but on the EPIA it goes berserk
Is there any solution for this?

weel, the LCD onlt needs rx and tx lines, so you can see if you can just use those.. other then that you can use a USB 2 Serial converter.
