Multiples questions on LCD modules...

Hi !
I have a LK402-12 and was wondering...about the backlit time-out feature,
I have set it to 1 min in LCDC... but it doesn't turn off..
Does it use screen activity to check if the module is used like in a PC...or just the keypad presses....?
If it use screen activity then it will not work in my case....
Second one...
I'm looking in maybe using a GLK24064-25 for my mp3 player in the gallery
because it support 40*8lines...
But I can't find some screen shot of it displaying 8 lines....
I will be using only the text portion of the screen, no gfx....
Can you mail or post me a dumb screen of 40*8 please..
