noob user display problem

I got my lcd 5/14 bay device today and I love it.

now, everything looks great on the virtual display but the characters start in odd places on the screen and wrap to the beginning..

for example
on the virtual screen:

Sensor 1=34c
Sensor 2=40c

on the actual screen:

sor 1=34c Sen
sor 2=40c Sen

And the position changes everytime I make a subtle change or reboot.

Help????

WHat software are you using? which display is this exaclty. If you use Alpha Demo does it work fine? can you send text properly?
